Honey and Diabetes: Is it good to eat honey for sugar patients?

Sugar patients use sweet in their diet very carefully. Consumption of sugar in tea and coffee also increases the risk of sugar, so it is believed that it may be safe for sugar patients to consume honey as a sweetener. If the answer to this question is searched, the answer will be yes but with some conditions. Sugar patients have to control their intake of carbohydrates and sugar, this does not mean that they need to completely stay away from sweets.
Honey is not completely safe, but has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the complications of sugar.

If you talk about using honey instead of sugar, then sugar is more dangerous than honey, because it does not contain any vitamins or minerals. Compared to sugar and honey, the intake of honey is better but it does not mean that the intake of honey for sugar patients will control the sugar level. If you consume sugar, it will increase the level of sugar in your blood, while its speed will be slightly lower in honey.

Because honey is a natural sweetener and carbohydrate, it is natural to somehow affect your blood sugar. If it is compared with sugar, the harmful effect of honey is less than sugar.

Study and research

A 2004 study evaluated the effects of honey and sugar on blood sugar levels. Researchers found that in patients with sugar, blood sugar increased 30 minutes after the intake of honey, but subsequently the blood sugar level decreased and remained at a low level for two hours.
Researchers believe that honey, unlike sugar, may cause an increase in insulin, which is an important hormone for controlling blood sugar. However, more research is still needed on this.
